Salt-water fishing

Deep-sea fishing is aplenty in the region. Many of the local reefs are only 30 minutes away where you can catch snapper, kingfish, hapuku or marlin. Popular islands for fishing include Tuhua (Mayor Island) and Motiti.

Thanks for taking the time to read about my charter service.

Why waste time travelling when you can be fishing... Our vessel, "Grouse" cruises at 25 knots and can be at many of the offshore reefs in as little as 30 minutes. Catch snapper, kingfish, hapuku, tuna or marlin plus many other species famous for their fighting and eating qualities. The "Grouse" has a barbeque, (fresh fish for lunch), and toilet and has MSA approval and safety equipment. Rods and bait can be supplied.

I am a keen fisherman myself and am very passionate about the ocean and the bounty it contains. I have fished out of Tauranga for over 20 years both commercially and recreationally. This means your charter will always be to an area that has produced quality fish. Combine this with the latest in Digital Furuno fish finding technology for the ultimate successful ocean adventure.

We specialise in targeting kingfish. I rate this as one of the most exciting fighting fish to catch and my experience has resulted in clients gaining several prizes in tournaments in 2007, sometimes 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

We have the absolute best Japanese tackle (Blue Heaven) available for hire.

A trip can consist of deep water hapuku fishing followed by kingfish and ending in Snapper or Terakihi-all in one day. Combine this with the chance to see dolphins, sometimes whales and of course sharks.

Or your trip could be a leisurely snapper fish within close range of the Mount-great for children and families.

Here is a feedback email:
Hi Paul just a quick thanks for a great day on Sunday and I’m positive that you will get a lot of work from our word of mouth as we all were impressed with the boat and of course you as a skipper .The fishing was great and I hope you enjoyed having us idiots on your boat for the day. Also what are the costs involved in an overnight trip? Once again thank you and I look forward to my next trip Ricky B.

So contact me now to plan and book your "Primo Charter".

Cheers,
Paul
